A bakery in Brentwood is seeing a surprising rise in cookie sales thanks to the increased visibility of Spencer Pratt, both in his campaign and with his cookie-themed products.
Daniela Romano, who bakes the popular Voort Plat cookies available at Vicente Foods, noted that the influx of orders has been so overwhelming that she and her family are struggling to keep pace.
“We sold 700 cookies yesterday,” Romano shared with the California Post.
Suddenly, orders started pouring in, with Pratt himself placing an order for an additional 300 cookies.
Romano explained that what began as a simple hobby has quickly escalated into a cookie sensation, attracting attention and enthusiasm from customers.
“We’ve been very busy,” Romano said. “My brother dedicated around 12 hours to making these cookie designs.”
She mentioned that customers have approached her, eager to support Pratt and engage with his campaign through her cookies.
“People were saying, ‘Did you see his stuff?'” Romano reminisced. “They suggested we should create cookies.” And so she did.
Romano crafted the cookie design and tagged Pratt in hopes of attracting some local interest, but the response was much bigger than she anticipated.
The buzz surrounding her cookies intensified after Vicente Foods became the center of a social media stir related to complaints about the pro-Pratt cookies sold there.
Supporters rallied, encouraging more people to purchase the cookies online, which only added to their popularity.
For Romano, this sudden business surge carries significant meaning. Her bakery had previously lost its long-standing storefront and residence in a fire in the Palisades.
Now, she operates from a much smaller location, with her brother lending a helping hand.
“All I have now is a small storefront and no proper bakery to make bread,” she noted. “My brother is also a baker, and he assists me.”
Despite the challenges, Romano expressed that the community’s support means more than just a financial boost after her previous hardships.
“It’s really heartwarming to see people come together to support me,” Romano said. “It gives me hope.”
