Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the murder of a 23-year-old pregnant Amish woman who was reportedly found murdered in her home on Monday, authorities said.
According to a news release, state police were called to a residence in the 21000 block of Fish Flats Road in Sparta Township just before 12:30 p.m.
Responding officers found Rebecca A. Byler dead, and authorities announced they were investigating her death as a homicide.

Neighbors told WJET-TV/FOX 66 that a young Amish couple lives in a house in Sparta Township, about 57 miles southeast of Erie.
“At approximately 12:30 p.m., PSP Cory received a 911 call stating that a deceased female had been found at the scene. At this time, we have confirmed the identity of the female and confirmed that she is deceased. This appears to be a suspicious situation,” State Police Lt. Mark Weindorf told WJET-TV/FOX 66.
Authorities told news outlets that two young children were in the home when Byler’s body was discovered.

Neighbors said Beiler’s husband returned home around noon and discovered his wife’s body.
Her family said she was six months pregnant.
Investigators have not said how she died.
