Mark Teixeira Announces Congressional Bid in Texas

Mark Teixeira, former MLB star and World Series champion, is running for the 21st Congressional District in Texas. His announcement came on Wednesday, stating he is eager to support President Trump’s America First agenda while advocating for Texas families and individual freedoms.

In his statement, Teixeira expressed his pride in being a Texan and a lifelong conservative. He mentioned, “It takes teamwork to win, and I’m ready to help defend President Trump’s America First agenda, Texas families, and individual liberty.” His sentiments reflect a strong commitment to principles he believes are essential for both Texas and the nation.

This news follows Representative Chip Roy’s announcement that he won’t be seeking re-election. Roy, the current representative for the district, had emphasized in a video his dedication to maintaining the Lone Star State’s legacy of liberty and self-determination.

In his message, Roy pointed out, “Texas has a long and proud tradition of rising to defend our homes, our freedom, and our communities.” He is now pursuing a run for Attorney General, aiming to continue that legacy assertively.

Teixeira commended Roy for his courageous representation of the district, noting, “I’m running to ensure District 21 remains prosperous and free for generations to come.” His enthusiasm for the role is evident, and he appears to be genuinely invested in the future of the district.

The election is set for November 2026, with a primary scheduled for March, marking a significant political moment for both Teixeira and the district.
