An illegal immigrant who was previously deported from the United States is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13 in Shelby Township, Michigan.
Joel Quintana Dominguez, a 32-year-old illegal immigrant, was arrested. Charged The Shelby Township Police Department investigated the case as a case involving multiple sexual assaults on a young girl.
Quintana Dominguez was taken into custody by police in Macomb County, Michigan, on July 15 on suspicion of attempting to flee the United States after being contacted about the investigation, according to Shelby County Police Chief Robert Sheride.
Sherides alleges that Quintana Dominguez repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl in Shelby Township and was subsequently charged with three felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Sherides said during the investigation, police learned that Quintana Dominguez is an illegal immigrant who had previously been deported from the U.S.
“I am sickened and disgusted to hear the details of this case in which Quintana Dominguez is being charged,” Sheride said. “I am also appalled to hear that he was previously deported and was able to return to the United States. This kind of behavior by illegal immigrants harms our country, and I want to thank the Bureau for their excellent work in moving quickly to take him into custody.”
Quintana Dominguez remains in the Shelby Township Detention Facility on $500,000 bail.
