Authorities in Texas have arrested and charged an illegal immigrant in connection with the April 21 death of a 3-month-old infant.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that Melvin Jesus Aquino Enriquez, 26, of Porter, was charged with assault with injury to a child and family violence.

Authorities initially responded to a report of a child being injured on April 14 at a home occupied by Enriquez in the 25000 block of Needham Road in Porter, and “immediately began a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s injury.” “The sheriff’s office said in a statement. press release.

The baby was hospitalized, but ultimately “died” from his injuries on April 24.
