Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently faced criticism from former South Carolina Lt. Colonel Andre Bauer, who is challenging him. This exchange occurred during the Turning Point Student Action Summit over the weekend.
Bauer expressed concern that South Carolinians feel disconnected from Graham, stating, “He’s probably been to Ukraine more than he’s been to Union South Carolina in the last 30 years. And we just want to see the efforts of our home senators. We want to see the borders that are actually protected.”
Breitbart News reached out to Bauer for his thoughts on Graham’s visit to Ukraine in May, following a contentious meeting with President Donald Trump.
Bauer labeled Graham’s actions as “a neglect of duty,” suggesting that Graham should not be engaged in such matters. “He wants to be Secretary of State,” Bauer said. “For the last 30 years, you’re a US Senator. That’s not your job. The President was in control. He said he was working. And the next day, you see, him and the most liberal senator outside him, and of course, one of the Blumentals, off doing their thing.”
Bauer also criticized Graham’s calls for intervention, referencing a surgical strike in Iran that he described as “perfect” but pointed out that America’s involvement hasn’t yielded positive results. “He was on the US Senate floor talking about regime change. He said our soldiers will be willing to risk their lives for that,” Bauer remarked, clearly disagreeing with Graham. “Our soldiers are tired of fighting these regime changes. They haven’t worked out well. They’ve often been worse than before.”
He stressed that he doesn’t identify as a globalist, asserting his belief in an America-first agenda that focuses on prioritizing domestic concerns. “It means taking care of your home base,” he concluded.
