Prince Andrew’s Disparaging Remarks Revealed in New Book

Prince Andrew reportedly referred to palace staff as “F-King Imbecile,” according to excerpts from the latest biography by royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

The 65-year-old Duke of York is described as being “incredibly cruel” to employees, particularly when behind closed doors. This insight is captured in Lownie’s biography, “The Rise of the House of York.”

In a particular incident following a severe storm in Northern Ireland in 2005, Andrew inquired about damage to Hillsborough Castle from David Anderson, the estate’s head. “Yes, teacher,” Anderson replied. When he mentioned a tree that had been planted by the Queen’s mother, Andrew was baffled and asked, “Does that mean Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth as her mother?”

Andrew then pressed Anderson about his tenure with the royal family, to which Anderson replied, “I joined in 1984, sir.” This prompted Andrew to question, “And you still don’t know the proper way to refer to my grandmother?”

Lownie notes that Andrew often expressed his annoyance with the phrase, “I want to do this,” aimed at royal staff. He also raises concerns about the relationship between Andrew’s nephews, William and Harry, calling it “problematic.”

In an excerpt shared by a news outlet, Lownie alleges that Prince Harry confronted Andrew physically regarding comments made about his wife, Meghan Markle. This confrontation reportedly left Andrew with a “bloody nose” after a fiery exchange over a decade ago.

Lownie claims that Andrew labeled Meghan an “opportunist” in a discussion held behind Harry’s back, which incited Harry’s anger. He firmly rebutted Andrew’s claims, labeling them “terribly inaccurate” and harmful.

This biography sheds new light on the Duke’s interactions and highlights ongoing tensions within the royal family.
