Prince Harry criticizes 'false' information regarding his difficult reunion with King Charles

Prince Harry has expressed that his recent meeting with King Charles III felt distant and lacking warmth, firmly rejecting claims that he described the encounter as “clearly formal.” A spokesperson for Harry, now 41, stated that reports regarding the tone of their reunion are “decisively false,” insisting the comments attributed to him were fabricated by a source aiming to disrupt attempts at reconciliation between him and his father.

The meeting on September 10 was the first in-person conversation between the two since February 2024, lasting about 55 minutes. Some reports suggested Harry’s visit felt more like an official engagement rather than a familial reunion.

Additionally, it was claimed that during this private tea, Harry presented Charles with a framed photo of their two children, Archie and Lilibet, intended for sharing with Meghan Markle. However, Harry’s representative clarified that while pictures were exchanged, the Duke and Duchess were not included in those images.

This reunion is significant, especially after Harry returned to the UK to participate in various charity events, coinciding with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. He paid a personal visit to her burial site at St. George’s Chapel, laying flowers there.

Still, the dynamics between Harry and his brother, Prince William, appear strained. Reports indicate they have not spoken during Harry’s visit, despite growing calls for reconciliation within the royal family. Harry has previously expressed a desire to mend family ties, acknowledging the need to move beyond past conflicts, particularly given the uncertain health of his father.

As the Duke of Sussex remains distanced from royal duties after stepping back from senior royal roles in 2020, his relationships within the family continue to be complicated and unresolved.
