Prince Harry faced some boos while attending a rugby match on Friday. He was there without his wife, Meghan Markle, and seemed to be enjoying a beer while watching Leicester play against Gloucester. His presence became notable when he appeared on the big screen, which prompted some negative reactions from the crowd, as captured by TNT network cameras.
TNT commentator Nick Mullins acknowledged the boos during the broadcast. Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles, as well as his brother, Prince William, has been quite strained. This tension has been under the spotlight since Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to California.
Since their departure, the couple has publicly shared their grievances against the royal family, particularly in their 2022 Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Harry’s memoir “Spare” released in 2023.
In August, it was reported that Meghan and Harry would return to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, possibly to be closer to King Charles, who is dealing with health issues. Their return to the UK hasn’t been smooth. Initially, they enrolled their children in an expensive prep school but withdrew them after just two days due to safety concerns.
It seems they will not be celebrating Christmas with the royal family this year, as the tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals show no signs of easing. Reports indicated that Harry and Meghan have decided against joining King Charles, Prince William, and others for the traditional holiday gatherings, likely to avoid any awkward interactions.
This decision comes right after some royal experts dismissed rumors that Harry, 42, and Meghan, 45, were planning to apologize to William and Kate Middleton, hoping to mend their long-standing feud.
