Prince Harry turned 40 on Sunday and received some notable “happy birthday” wishes.
Prince William, the second son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana, received more well-wishes than he expected, including from his estranged father and brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, in surprising public comments.
The congratulatory messages were shared across the royal family's social media accounts, managed by Charles' office at Buckingham Palace.
“Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” the post's caption read, alongside a picture of a beaming Prince Harry during a visit to Dublin, Ireland in 2018.

The Prince and Princess of Wales reposted the royal announcement on their own Instagram stories with an X, along with a nearly identical statement: “Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!”

The last time the royal family publicly acknowledged the prince's birthday was in 2021, a year after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, formally stepped down from their royal duties. Public birthday comments are usually only made for working members of the royal family, but exceptions are made for important birthdays.

The Mirror previously reported that Prince Harry will likely receive $8.5 million from his late great-grandmother's estate on his birthday, which the publication reported would be more than Prince William received when he turned 40, as Prince Charles is heir to the British throne.
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that the large inheritance would “frustrate” Prince William, 42. According to his brother's confession It shook the monarchy.

“[He feels] “Prince Harry has had a history of being uncooperative, harsh and hurtful towards the Royal Family,” Chard argued. “Prince Harry, in turn, has always felt that Prince William was undeserving and will be thrilled to win the top prize.”
“King Charles will be extremely relieved that Prince Harry will now be financially stable for a while and will no longer feel the need to write any more anti-Royalty memoirs,” Chard argued.

People Magazine Prince Harry is reportedly spending his birthday in Montecito, where he has lived since 2020. He is expected to be surrounded by family and friends today, and it is thought the prince will continue to party abroad with his close friends.
A representative for the Duke of Sussex did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
