Princess Beatrice to spend Christmas with royal family due to pregnancy | Monarchy

Princess Beatrice will join the royal family at Sandringham this Christmas, it has been revealed, after changing her travel plans due to medical advice.

Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who are expecting their second child in early spring, had planned to spend the festive period abroad with the princess's in-laws.

However, the PA news agency said she has been advised not to travel long distances.

The royal baby will be a younger brother or sister to the couple's three-year-old daughter Sienna and eight-year-old Wolfie, Mapelli Mozzi's son and Beatrice's step-son.

Many royals are expected to be guests of King Charles and Queen Camilla at Sandringham on Christmas Day. The Prince of Wales recently revealed that 45 people will be “all in one room” at his private property in Norfolk.

But Beatrice's father, the Duke of York, has distanced himself amid controversy over his relationship with a suspected Chinese spy.

A High Court hearing last week revealed that suspected spy Yang Tengbo, who has been banned from entering the UK, is said to have been a “close aide” to Prince Andrew.

Mr Yang, a businessman whose identity had previously been protected by an anonymity order, was named after a judge lifted the ban on Monday.

In a statement, Yang denied allegations that he was involved in espionage, saying: “I have done nothing fraudulent or illegal, and the concerns raised against me by the Ministry of Interior are unfounded.” said.

Last week, Andrew's office announced that he had ceased all contact with men he met through “official channels” and “did not discuss any sensitive matters.”

The prince's ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, will also be absent from Christmas at Sandringham, in what is believed to be a show of solidarity with her ex-husband.

The pair are said to be preparing to spend the day together at their home, Royal Lodge, in Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie and her family will spend Christmas with her in-laws.
