Princess Charlene Shows Support for Prince Albert Amidst Rumors

Princess Charlene of Monaco recently expressed her “love and support” for Prince Albert during a time marked by speculation regarding her health and potential separation from him.

At the annual Croix Rouge Monegus Cugala event for the Red Cross in Monaco, which took place on Saturday, Charlene delivered a heartfelt address about her husband. “Today marks the 20th anniversary of your membership,” she noted, looking at Albert while he sat in the audience.

During her speech, which had a personal touch, Charlene remarked, “Twenty years ago, you took the reins of the Principality, and since then, you have led Monaco with wisdom, courage, and determination.” She highlighted Albert’s role in international politics, praising him for embodying the importance of soft power through his environmental advocacy.

Charlene continued, becoming even more emotional: “Albert, you know I’m always by your side, alongside the people of Monaco. We stand together with all our hearts to protect our future under your leadership. We are grateful for you, we love you, and we support you.”

As her speech concluded, Charlene raised a toast, inviting everyone to join her in honoring Albert.

During the event, a moving rendition of Monaco’s anthem was performed, with Albert visibly touched, singing along. Close to midnight, the couple held hands while shaking to Coldplay’s “Everglow.”

In a lively evening, Billy Idol entertained the guests with over ten of his iconic songs, including “Eyes Without a Face.” At one point, he asked, “Would you like to have fun tonight?” to which Albert enthusiastically replied, “Yes!” After 1 AM, the couple shared a dance.

This celebration was significant, marking Albert’s dedication to the Red Cross and the 20th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. Albert became ruler in 2005 after the death of his father, Rainier III. Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer from South Africa, became his wife in 2011, and together they have 10-year-old twins, Prince Jack and Princess Gabriella.

Despite facing persistent rumors about their marriage, including speculations of divorce, Charlene’s recent health struggles have overshadowed the couple. In May 2021, health complications arose during her visit to South Africa, which was initially meant to last just 10 days but ended up extending to six months.

After undergoing several surgeries and experiencing additional health issues, Charlene eventually sought treatment outside Monaco. The couple has remained publicly united, though their relationship has been scrutinized by tabloids across multiple countries.

Albert has previously refuted rumors regarding their separation, clarifying that Charlene’s absence was related to medical matters rather than anything else. He emphasized that misunderstandings about their situation can be harmful, not just to them but also to their family.

Charlene’s health is said to have deteriorated following complications from dental procedures that she underwent, which brought on several corrective surgeries. Most recently, the couple has shown a united front, working to dispel ongoing speculation about their marriage.
