Princess Madeleine of Sweden She and her family are returning to their home country after six years in the United States.
The couple, who are both royals, have been living in Florida with their children Princess Leonore, 10, Prince Nicholas, 8, and Princess Adrienne, 6, since 2018. The family had planned to move to Sweden last summer but postponed the move.

“Today marks Princess Madeleine’s 42nd birthday,” the palace wrote in a caption translated from Swedish. “Princess Madeleine and her family are currently back home in Sweden.”

Princess Madeleine of Sweden postpones return to Sweden from Florida until 2024
The post included a formal family portrait, with Madeleine and her daughters coordinated in light blue, with the princess in a blouse and long chiffon skirt, Leonore and Adrienne in matching chiffon dresses, and O’Neill and Nicholas in dark suits with blue patterned ties.
The princess and her family moved to the Sunshine State in fall 2018 after living in London for several years. Her return to Sweden was originally scheduled for August last year, but Margareta Thorgren, the Swedish royal household’s information manager, announced in July that the return had been postponed.

“The plan is to move my family to Sweden. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be delayed until 2024,” Thorgren told Swedish outlet Expressen, according to People magazine.
Thorgren clarified that the delay was not due to immigration issues or home sales.

“The time was just a little too short for the family given everything that goes into moving,” the representative said.
At the time, Thorgren told Expressen that Leonore, Nicholas and Adrien would start primary school and kindergarten in the US in the autumn, and he also confirmed that the family would spend the summer in Sweden.

Last June, Princess Madeleine and her family returned to Sweden to celebrate National Day. The royal family shared a family photo on Instagram for the occasion. In the photo, Princess Madeleine and her daughters were wearing traditional Swedish blue and yellow dresses decorated with sunflowers over white collared blouses.
O’Neill was wearing a gray suit, while Nicholas wore a slate blue suit jacket, a white dress shirt, and dark blue pants.
“Happy National Day! Vi [heart emoji] She wrote in the caption, “Happy National Day! We love Sweden,” which translates to “Happy National Day! We love Sweden.”

In March 2023, the Swedish Palace released a statement announcing the wishes of Princess Madeleine and her family. Return to Sweden.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill plan to relocate to Stockholm with their children in August 2023,” the statement said.
“Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill have decided to move the family to Sweden indefinitely. Princess Leonor and Prince Nicholas will start primary school in Stockholm in the autumn. Princess Adriaan will start kindergarten.”
“The family will be living permanently in an apartment at the Royal Stables in Stockholm.”

Life in America is nothing new for Princess Madeleine, who is seventh in line to the Swedish throne. In 2010, while still single, she moved to New York City and began working as a project manager for Queen Silvia’s World Children’s Fund.

After Princess Madeleine and Mr O’Neill married in 2013, the princess and the British-American businessman remained in New York for several years, and their first child was born in a US hospital in 2014. The family also had a summer home in Florida before moving there.
Over the past year, Madeline has been sharing photos of her family enjoying time together in Florida.
For Halloween, she posted a photo of herself, O’Neill, and their children dressed up in costumes to celebrate the annual American holiday. The princess also shared a photo of her attending the Feast of the First Coming service at the Swedish Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with Leonor and Adrien.

In March, Madeleine celebrated Adrienne’s sixth birthday by posting a photo on Instagram of her daughter wearing a pink dress on the beach.
Madeline shared a slideshow of photos of her family strolling through Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, known for its colorful murals.
“Sunday is the day to explore the city I live in! Had a fun walk around Wynwood with the kids today,” she wrote.
In 2019, the Swedish palace was opened to Madeleine and O’Neill’s children, Prince Carl Philip Prince Harry and Princess Sofia will lose their official “Royalty” titles and will no longer be able to work as working members of the royal family.

The children lost their Royal Highnesses titles but kept their Prince and Princess titles, but these titles became personal to them and their future spouses and children would not have any claim to them.
