Patients who use Prisma Health and have United Healthcare insurance recently received a letter about their coverage that worries some people. The letter from Prisma Health said that after January 1, 2024, United Airlines will no longer include Prisma Health as a healthcare provider in its network unless Prisma reaches a new agreement. “Negotiations are continuing in the hope that a new agreement will be reached, but if no agreement is reached, there may be an impact on out-of-pocket costs,” the letter said. Prisma says on its website that unless new agreements are reached, Prisma Health’s hospitals and doctors will be out of the network of plans for: UnitedHealthcare (all for profit) UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage.
