Authorities are currently on the lookout for inmates who escaped from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Sunday morning, reportedly moving towards local trains.
Seattle Port police received a notification about the escape around 11 a.m.
One of the fugitives, identified as 28-year-old Cedric T. Stevenson, had been under the care of a contracted agent who lost control of him at the ticket counter. Stevenson, wanted for a warrant from Bowling Green, Kentucky, made a run for it and headed towards the light rail station.
The agent chased after him but couldn’t catch up.
According to surveillance footage, Seattle Port Police confirmed that Stevenson managed to board a light rail train and was headed north. Sound Transit Security later spotted him exiting at Capitol Hill Station.
Currently, police are considering charges of second-degree escape against him. Meanwhile, they have been combing through luggage and various areas at the airport, but the incident hasn’t affected travel operations.
