Pro-Hamas Protests the ‘Result of the Kind of Stuff that Flows Down from Places Like NPR’

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher agreed with Uli Berliner’s criticism of NPR, saying that pro-terrorism protesters “are coming out of places like NPR and universities. It’s the result of something.” And because NPR doesn’t really consider all issues and viewpoints, even Democrats can’t think that editorial bias within NPR is a good thing.

Maher said:[T]His big show was called “All Things Considered.” Not all of that is taken into account. He’s not wrong. And he pointed out, for example, that of the 87 people who hold editorial positions there, 87 are Democrats. Even if you’re a Democrat, I don’t think this is a good idea. ”

He also said that NPR’s new CEO, Katherine Maher, is not a liberal but a “Portlandia-type character.”

Later, after talking about NPR’s obsession with identity politics, Maher said:[T]People protesting against terrorists on the bridge. I think this is a result of things flowing out of places like NPR and universities. ”

He added: “I hate seeing college students who don’t understand anything about history. Somehow Jews are now Nazis?”
