An ad supporting Vice President Harris targeting African-American voters will run during the BET Hip Hop Awards, a music awards event that airs Tuesday night.
The ad, called “Wallet” and released last week, was created by Future Forward, a super PAC supporting Harris' bid for the White House. In addition to airing during music events, the economic-focused ad is being aired on national cable TV, streaming TV and YouTube in swing states, a Future Forward aide confirmed to The Hill.
“Listen, this election is about your wallet,” says the narrator. It says in the advertisement.
“Candidate A is a billionaire who is looking for billionaires and putting taxes on the streets to fund the elite,” the narrator says, referring to former President Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk. He talks about the relationship between the two.
The ad then highlights the economic proposals Harris announced in August.
“Candidate B knows the struggle and offers real support,” the narrator says. “There are tax credits for working and middle-class families, $25,000 for a first home, $6,000 for families with a newborn, and the child tax credit nearly doubles. One person out of pocket. One is about to be emptied and the other wants you to advance.”
“Creating a middle class will be a clear goal of my presidency,” Harris said in the ad.
The ads come as the Harris campaign ramps up its efforts to shore up support among black voters with just three weeks left until Election Day. On Monday, Harris announced an expanded economic package aimed at black men, with an emphasis on teachers, men in the marijuana industry, cryptocurrency investors, business owners, and men with health conditions.
The vice president will also hold an event in Detroit with morning radio show host Charlamagne the God. Last weekend, Harris traveled to North Carolina and met with local Black community leaders.
The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
