A super PAC supporting Republican House candidate Maji Pillip is targeting Democrats in a new TV ad that will air during Sunday’s Super Bowl, two days before the Feb. 13 special election to replace the ousted former congressman. He is putting a strain on his rival, Tom Suozzi. George Santos.
The 30-second spot cost $1.35 million, paid for by a secure New York PAC, which Suozzi claims is “soft on illegal immigrants and tough on taxpayers.”
The ad notes that Suozzi raised taxes by “hundreds of millions of dollars” while Nassau County Executive and received significant raises during his tenure.

“As Nassau County Executive, Tom Suozzi froze pay for police officers while giving himself a 60% raise. “We dreamed of nearly $5 trillion in property taxes, a new energy tax, and a massive $450 billion wealth tax,” said Allie Lipnick, executive director of SecureNYS.
The National Republican Party is playing catch-up to support Pilip, with Suozzi’s campaign and the National Democratic Party pouring millions more into the race.
Mr. Suozzi’s record of raising property taxes while Nassau County Executive is well-documented and has been featured in previous campaigns.
In 2016, the Poynter Institute’s PolitiFact evaluated Mr. Suozzi’s Republican cause. Taxes increased by more than $200 million Meanwhile, county executives are accurate.
Meanwhile, a bipartisan county commission recommended raises for Suozzi and local councilors in 2007.
Suozzi’s campaign rejected the ad.

Another spot created by House Democrats attempts to link Pilip to Santos, pointing to lawsuits and tax issues involving her family business and calling Pilip an “ethical nightmare.”
