Ahead of Biden’s State of the Union address, hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters blocked the route of his motorcade from the White House to the Capitol.

On Thursday, demonstrators took to the streets of Washington, D.C., wearing shirts and holding signs calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. One of the banners read, “Biden’s legacy is genocide.”

The protests in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue present a dilemma for the president. The president’s motorcade must travel along this street to get to the Capitol.

The group also included pro-Palestinian protesters near the Bullfeather drinking fountain at the Republican Capitol. Protesters shouted at staff and told them to quit their jobs.

“Staff members, staff members who cannot hide! We charge you with genocide,” they shouted at Hill employees.
