Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) recently caused controversy by commemorating the “Nakba,” characterizing Israel’s statehood as a “disaster.” Pro-Palestinian voices claim that Israel committed ethnic cleansing and genocide in 1948, while claiming that Israel was fighting a war of independence against aggressive invaders.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), a third-term congresswoman who has long been criticized for anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric, said: It is scheduled This week, it will host a parliamentary event to commemorate the “Nakba” or “catastrophe” of Israel’s founding.
