Pro-Palestinian protesters disrupt traffic across DC

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators flocked to Washington, D.C., Thursday morning, disrupting traffic in the city.

Demonstrators marched along the 400 block of North Capitol Street NW. Police prevented demonstrators from marching toward the Capitol. Protesters were also reported at Union Station.

Protesters can be heard on the video shouting, “From Palestine to the Philippines! Stop the American war machine! Liberate Palestine!” U.S. Capitol Police are seen blocking roads to the Capitol.

“We need to increase pressure on the Biden administration, Congress, and the entire US government,” protest organizers wrote on social media, saying those involved directly responded to what they called “Israel’s genocidal violence in Gaza.” He claimed to be responsible. ”

Palestinian supporters have demonstrated in cities across the country in recent months, blocking traffic on roads and bridges and even attempting to disrupt the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Last week, pro-Palestinian demonstrators in New York City set fire to an American flag while clashing with police.

The Capitol was filled with pro-Palestinian demonstrators when a group gathered outside the White House last month. Some demonstrators broke down security barriers and threw objects at police.
