Pro-Trump super PAC spending millions on ads attacking Harris

A major super PAC supporting former President Trump’s reelection plans to spend millions of dollars on attack ads against Vice President Harris, who is emerging as Trump’s challenger in November’s presidential election.

MAGA is running new ads targeting Harris on immigration and her record as a prosecutor in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona.

“The Democratic Party got hitched in a hurry, but we plan to cut that honeymoon short,” MAGA Inc. CEO Taylor Budowicz said in a statement. “Kamala Harris is currently known only as a failed, unpopular vice president who betrayed her boss to get a nomination she didn’t get, but voters are about to find out. It’s about to get a lot worse.”

POLITICO First reported The new ad spending is expected to total about $12 million per week through Labor Day.

The ads have yet to air, but one will reportedly focus on immigration and the issue of the southern border.

Republicans have stepped up their attacks on Harris, who has rapidly solidified her support among Democrats after President Biden announced on Sunday that he would not seek reelection.

President Trump and his allies have persistently referred to Harris as the Biden administration’s “border czar,” a reference to the mandate Biden gave her in 2021 to address the root causes of Central American migration that is causing a surge in crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Politico reported that the second ad will focus on Harris’ time as a prosecutor in California, after Trump has attacked her record during her time as San Francisco’s district attorney and as California’s attorney general, portraying her as a “radical” liberal.

Harris has used her background as a prosecutor as a contrast to Trump and his long list of legal problems.

“I’ve fought criminals of all kinds. Predators who abuse women. Scammers who deceive consumers. Con men who break the rules for their own personal gain. So listen when I say I know what a person like Donald Trump is,” Harris said in multiple campaign speeches this week.

MAGA had previously pledged to spend $100 million in Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania by Labor Day, seeing those states as the former president’s clearest path to victory.
