‘Process-Wise, We’re Not Going to Deal with This Next Week’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on “Fox News Sunday” this week that the Senate’s border deal will not be addressed next week.

Anchor Shannon Bream said: We were waiting for a deal. I think the text will be here by Sunday morning. Still waiting. We don’t have the document yet, but we’re hearing that there may be a move to vote on this on the Senate floor before you go into a two-week recess in February. There are a lot of people who don’t want to see a deal at all, and I have people who say they’re open to it, but are they going to vote that quickly? ”

Mr Graham said: This is the oldest game in town and is about filing important bills just before a holiday or break. So process-wise, we’re not going to address this next week. That’s too important. ”

He continued: “Substantially I have been involved in the negotiations. What they have achieved, as far as I know, which we have not yet seen, is real change in asylum, real change in parole. change, and real change in rapid deportation.”

Graham added, “There are some Democrats who would be willing to change this law to make it better, to address parole and strengthen expedited release. In effect, James I think Langford did a pretty good job. I’m going to wait and see what the final bill will be. There won’t be any traffic jams in the process. This just before a two-week break. I’m not going to bring up something as important as this. I hope people have an open mind about the nature of this. If you think our laws are being violated, you have to correct them. .”
