Professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee charged with killing his passenger.

A quadruple amputee, who also happens to be a professional cornhole player, has been accused of fatally shooting a passenger in his car. The situation raises an interesting question: how could he even handle a gun?

At around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, two individuals contacted the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in La Plata, Maryland. This town is about 55 miles south of Washington, D.C.

Initially, it seems that both individuals were in the back seat when the driver, 27-year-old Dayton James Weber from La Plata, shot a passenger in the front seat during an argument.

After the shooting, Weber reportedly stopped the vehicle and asked his other passengers to help pull the wounded victim out of the car. However, the passengers declined, exited the vehicle, and left the scene instead.

Weber drove off, taking the victim with him, and it was noted that everyone in the car was acquainted.

Nearly two hours later, a resident in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, called 911 to report finding a body in his yard.

When officers arrived, they discovered 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells from Waldorf, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office secured a warrant for Weber’s arrest and later found his vehicle in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Upon investigation, authorities located Weber at a nearby hospital where he was receiving treatment for medical issues.

After being released, he was arrested by deputies from the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office.

Weber was promptly arraigned in Charles County District Court in Maryland and faces several serious charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and multiple counts of assault.

Reports indicate that Weber had been picking up two men from work when the incident unfolded, with Wells already in the passenger seat.

According to documents, an argument escalated while the vehicle was moving, and two witnesses later asserted that Weber pulled a gun during this dispute, shooting Wells twice in the head.

Afterward, he stopped the car, pleaded with the passengers to help, but they instead alerted the authorities and left him there.

The body of Wells was eventually found on the roadside by a Charlotte Hall resident around 12:41 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses have reportedly identified Weber as the shooter, forming the basis for the murder and assault charges against him.

What’s puzzling for investigators is how Weber, being an amputee, managed both to drive and fire the weapon.

A representative from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office pointed out that the investigation is still in its early stages, but currently, there’s no evidence suggesting any other individuals were involved.

Interestingly, a video circulating on social media seems to show Weber engaged in shooting with a rifle and a 9mm handgun.

Reports also noted that Weber had undergone amputations due to a blood infection he suffered from as a child. Additionally, he has established himself as a professional player in the American Cornhole League.
