Progress of the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act in House Committee

A House Committee on Veteran Affairs made progress on the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act on Tuesday, inching closer to restoring gun rights for numerous veterans.

The NRA expressed their support for the bill’s advancement.

American gun owners extended their gratitude to Congressmen Mike Bost (R) and Eli Crane (R) for their efforts to safeguard veterans’ Second Amendment rights.

Breitbart News had a conversation with Congressman Crane on January 23, 2025, where he criticized “unelected bureaucrats” for their role in undermining veterans’ rights through asset management controls.

During the hearing, Crane questioned the authority of unelected officials to strip veterans of their Second Amendment rights in the name of asset management.

In a post on X, Crane, a former US Navy member, highlighted that some Democrats, who support the bureaucratic actions affecting gun rights, argue it’s to help reduce veteran suicides, particularly among combat veterans. However, Crane disagreed, pointing out, “The main issues for many veterans are fear and trauma, stemming from the experiences of confronting life-threatening situations.”
