Project 2025 leader's book release postponed until after election

According to multiple reports, the new leader of Project 2025 is postponing the release of a forthcoming book until after the November election.

Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, suggested he would focus on getting lesser conservatives elected instead of promoting his book, “Early Light at Dawn.”

“I have time to write, read, and tour my books. And I also have time to put the books down and fight tooth and nail to get my country back,” Roberts wrote. Statement to RealClearPolitics“That’s why I’ve decided to move the publication and promotion of my book until after the election.”

RealClearPolitics first reported the delay.

The New York Times The book was originally scheduled to be released in September. The release date has now been changed to November 12, according to the Associated Press. Publisher website.

Project 2025 has attracted national attention in recent weeks for its right-wing policy proposals, prompting Democrats and Harris’ campaign to launch an effort to counter it. Roberts announced last week that Project 2025’s leadership would step down from its posts and that she would take over.

Republicans, including former President Trump, have tried to distance themselves from the policy book in recent weeks as Democrats continue to attack them over its policies.

The Associated Press reported last week that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) wrote the foreword to Roberts’ upcoming book, in which Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, praised Roberts for his conservative vision, according to the AP.

“Never before has someone with Roberts’ deep name recognition and stature on the American right attempted to articulate a truly new future for conservatism,” Vance writes in the introduction. “The Heritage Foundation is not just some bastion on Capitol Hill; it has been the most influential ideological force in the Republican Party, from Ronald Reagan to Donald Trump.”

A spokesman for Vance told The Associated Press that the preamble “has nothing to do with Project 2025.”

“Senator Vance has previously stated he is not involved in this matter and strongly disagrees with their demands,” Vance spokesman William Martin said in an email to The Associated Press. “President Trump alone will determine the policy agenda for the next administration.”

The Hill has reached out to the Heritage Foundation and Broadside Books for comment.
