A prosecutor in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office was robbed Sunday morning by a molester who broke into his apartment during a lewd act, sources said.
The 38-year-old assistant district attorney arrived at his 44th Street home around 2 a.m. and found a creepy man masturbating in the hallway of his building, sources told the Post.
The frightened lawyer dropped his mobile phone and the sick man snatched it and fled the scene, sources added.
Sources say the victim called 911, upset, and police tracked the stolen cell phone to 45th Street and Eighth Avenue.
This intersection is the site of the Row NYC Hotel. Formerly known as Milford Plaza, it was a luxury hotel popular with tourists before the city turned it into an immigrant shelter in 2022.
City officials are scrambling to make room for the thousands of migrants who have crossed the border with Mexico and flooded the five boroughs seeking asylum for more than two years.
The man who attacked a Manhattan prosecutor remains at large, law enforcement officials said, but it was not immediately clear whether the stolen cellphone had been recovered.
It is unclear whether the robbers were residents of the converted hotel.
The Manhattan prosecutor's office did not respond to a request for comment.
