Prosecutors Seek Long Sentence for Sean “Diddy” Combs

On Tuesday, prosecutors urged for Sean “Diddy” Combs to face at least 11 years in prison as he prepares for sentencing later this week on prostitution-related charges.

The 55-year-old music mogul is set to be sentenced on Friday following his conviction this summer for orchestrating a sex encounter involving an escort who traveled across state lines, stemming from a recent sex crime trial.

“The crimes he has been convicted of are serious,” prosecutors stated in a recommendation filed shortly after midnight. They highlighted Combs’ long history of violence, noting that he has received sentences over the past decade for similar offenses involving other defendants.

In their submission, which included letters from the victim outlining the impact of Combs’ actions, prosecutors described him as “unrepentant” and urged the court to consider the psychological, emotional, and physical harm he has caused.

In July, Combs narrowly avoided a potential life sentence when judges determined he was not guilty of the most serious charges against him.

Instead, he faces a maximum of 20 years after being convicted on two counts related to a male sex worker involving crossing state lines and directing him to have sexual relations with his girlfriend.

“He is not a victim,” prosecutors emphasized in their pre-sentencing application.

Prosecutors argued that the court should consider the significant impact of Combs’ actions on his victims, who are indeed real victims. They added that while he won’t be punished for the crimes he was acquitted of, the nature of his convictions should still factor into the sentencing.
