In a Los Angeles court on Thursday morning, prosecutors revealed that the cell phone of singer D4vd contained a significant amount of child pornography.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is currently being held without bail in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Authorities claim her dismembered body was discovered in a bag inside his Tesla.
Investigators reportedly accumulated 40 terabytes of evidence during a lengthy probe, which indicated that child pornography was discovered on the singer’s phone. This information, according to reports, does not clarify if the materials linked to Hernandez in any way.
The district attorney has claimed that D4vd engaged in a sexual relationship with Hernandez when he was under 14 years old. Recently, he faced additional charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor. Reports suggest that Hernandez was invited to D4vd’s home in the Hollywood Hills after he allegedly threatened to disclose their relationship. Following the alleged murder, prosecutors argue that he dismembered her body and concealed it in his car for over four months until it decayed.
D4vd is charged with first-degree murder, sexual abuse of a minor under 14, and unlawful mutilation of a corpse. Additionally, prosecutors are said to be considering special circumstance allegations, including murder for financial gain and killing a witness.
According to reports, wiretapping devices were utilized by prosecutors during the investigation back in 2025.
D4vd has denied all allegations against him. His defense team stressed to the judge that no substantial evidence has been provided thus far, and they had previously requested an immediate preliminary hearing. Prosecutors announced they are preparing for a hearing and are aiming to proceed to trial within 60 days.
D4vd was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on April 16. Prosecutors claim that he used a “sharp instrument” to kill Hernandez, with the coroner’s office determining the cause of death as multiple penetrating wounds before the dismemberment occurred.
Interestingly, D4vd released a song called “Romantic Homicide” in 2022, though its connection to this situation remains unclear. At the moment, prosecutors have not indicated whether they will pursue the death penalty.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1.
