Federal prosecutors said Thursday that actor Matthew Perry’s live-in assistant injected him with ketamine, which caused his death.

Following her arrest, more details emerged about the so-called “Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles.” The woman, named Jasveen Sangha, allegedly “had an extensive network for distributing the drug,” but little is known about the woman police call the “Ketamine Queen.” The Daily Beast:
According to the Department of Justice, which held a press conference on the investigation on Thursday, Sangha “took advantage of Mr. Perry by selling him large quantities of ketamine over a two-week period in October 2023,” and “sold him approximately 50 bottles of ketamine for approximately $11,000.” The charges were filed with emergency medicine doctors Salvador Plasencia, a “broker” named Eric Fleming, and Perry’s live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa (who later became Inject Perry with drugs Authorities say Dr Sangha is believed to have “taken advantage” of Mr Perry’s relapse, and a second doctor, Mark Chavez, has also been charged.
A search of Sangha’s home uncovered a “drug store” containing “80 vials of ketamine, thousands of pills containing methamphetamine and cocaine, bottles of Xanax, and other illegally obtained prescription drugs,” according to the report. Daily MailSangha lived a wealthy life from the store.
U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Martin Estrada, said in a statement Thursday that Perry’s death “revealed an extensive underground criminal network that distributed large quantities of ketamine to Mr. Perry and others.” Estrada said Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, conspired with Dr. Salvador Plasencia to provide ketamine to Perry, and over a two-month period, the two “distributed approximately 20 vials of ketamine to Mr. Perry in exchange for $55,000 in cash.”
“Plasencia saw this as an opportunity to profit from Perry,” Estrada said.

In one text exchange, Plascencia even said, “I wonder how much this idiot is gonna pay.”
“The defendants were more interested in profiting from Mr. Perry than they were in caring for his well-being,” Estrada said. “If you’re in the business of selling dangerous drugs, we’re going to hold you accountable for the deaths you cause.”
