Protester shoots at federal agents in chaotic confrontation during cannabis farm raid: intense footage

On Thursday, a dramatic situation unfolded at a Southern California pot farm during a deportation raid. Federal agents were involved in a chaotic clash, captured on video by ABC7. The footage shows a masked individual in black brandishing weapons, reportedly aimed at the immigration officers who arrived at Glass House Farm in Camarillo.

This individual can be seen firing several shots while other protesters tried to escape the scene. Fortunately, no law enforcement officers were reported injured during the altercation.

The chaos started in the morning as federal agents, equipped for riot control, approached amidst clouds of smoke. The confrontation lasted around four hours, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection establishing blockades using military-style vehicles. Helicopters could also be seen flying over the fields and greenhouses.

Dozens of protesters clashed with police dressed in gas masks, filling the blocked roads with their shouts and movements. Some were seen darting around parked cars, trying to avoid the escalating situation until an agent deployed a canister filled with an unknown substance.

The scene quickly intensified as demonstrators were surrounded by clouds of smoke. Emergency services were called at around 12:15 p.m. to assist, and three individuals were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, though details regarding their conditions remain unclear.

In a statement, Glass House Farms noted that they had fully complied with the search warrant issued by immigration enforcement on that day. The farm is licensed to cultivate cannabis in Ventura County, with half its area also dedicated to growing tomatoes and cucumbers.

During the upheaval, a worker named Judith Ramos, who was in the tomato fields nearby, expressed her concerns. “He said immigrants were outside his job, and if something happens…,” she remarked, her voice wavering. At just 22, she shared that she has two younger siblings, and she witnessed many people being taken away amidst the chaos. She said she was part of the protest when the canister was released.
