Protesters dispute Vance’s description of clash on street over Ukraine: 'No one was chasing him'

Protesters who stood up to Vice President Vance challenged his version, claiming that “no one was chasing him.”

Video sharing Cincinnati's WCPO and Anne Henry from one of the protesters indicated the incident with Vance. She said Henry disputed the narrative of Vance and instead ran into a vice president.

“No one was chasing him,” she told the outlet.

In a post on Social Platform X, Vance said he faced protesters from Procrane while he was with his 3-year-old daughter on Saturday.

“I decided to talk to the protesters in the hopes of exchanging conversations for a few minutes and leaving the toddler alone. (Almost all of them agreed.) Vance said at X.

He said it was an almost respectful conversation, but said, “If you're chasing a three-year-old as part of a political protest, you're an s—person.”

A video shared with the outlet showed protesters asking questions about the Russian-Ukraine war.

“I think it's our greatest benefit. [own people] And frankly, it is the best interest of the Ukrainians to stop the war,” Vance said.

He said that Russia “certainly” had invaded Ukraine, which contradicted its refusal to admit it.

Protesters said the US has sold out Ukrainians as the rare mineral trade collapsed after a fierce meeting with Trump and Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky, and that the Trump administration is holding meetings with Russian officials rather than Ukrainian officials.

Vance opposed, saying the US has not sold out Ukrainians.

“I think what we're doing is actually enforcing diplomatic reconciliation,” Vance said.

Henry told the outlet that she was happy.

“We all wanted it to be respectful and calm,” she said. “We really wanted to know what really bothers us.”

Oka reached out to the White House for comments.
