Angel Families Advocate for Immigration Reform
Families of individuals killed by illegal immigrants are calling on the Republican-majority Congress to support President Trump’s proposed settlement package, describing it as “one, big and beautiful bill.”
This spending package aims to facilitate at least one million deportations annually and to recruit 10,000 new Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. It will also enhance immigration detention, levy remittance taxes, finance ongoing Mexican programs, and address cases involving unaccompanied alien children (UACs) concerning gang-related deadlines.
In their initial letter to Congress, the Angel Families characterized the bill as a “lifeline.” They expressed deep personal losses: “Each of us lives with a permanent hole in our lives, due to illegal immigrants who were not supposed to be here in the first place, allowing their innocent lives to continue,” they wrote.
Yet, every year, excuses come from Washington instead of real solutions. This must stop. “One big beautiful bill” is not just another piece of legislation; it’s a lifeline and a significant step toward reinstating the rule of law, focusing on public safety and putting American families before political agendas.
Mark Greene, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, has echoed these sentiments, urging lawmakers to get the bill passed.
He noted, “President Trump won decisively because he promised to tackle the self-inflicted challenges posed by previous administrations.” Greene mentioned that border agents are now effectively returning to their roles of law enforcement, leading to the detention and deportation of many criminal aliens and restoring law and order in communities. The statistics demonstrate that Trump’s strategy of enforcing laws is effective.
“We have a crucial chance to enhance the safety of the country we cherish. Let’s fulfill our commitments and reach a resolution,” Greene added.
