Provo Recognized as Best City in New Ranking
The Mayor of Provo, Utah, recently shared news that her city has been named the best city in a new survey. Mayor Michelle Kaufushi expressed pride in this recognition, emphasizing a focus on foundational aspects like quality schools, safe neighborhoods, and well-maintained roads.
According to Kaufushi, public safety remains a top concern for residents. “We are proud to have the fourth lowest violent crime rate in the nation and the seventh lowest property crime rate,” she remarked, noting that two years prior, Provo was recognized as the safest city in the country.
“These factors seem to be shining a light on us,” she continued. “People are drawn to Provo, and we welcome that. It’s great for business, and we’re truly humbled to receive this honor.”
The ranking, conducted by WalletHub, attributed Provo’s high standing to its economic growth, low crime rates, and overall community cleanliness. With a population exceeding 110,000, the city also boasts strong road quality, ranking 22nd in the country.
WalletHub evaluated cities based on various service categories, including financial stability, education, safety, economy, infrastructure, and pollution, with performance measured against each city’s budget.
Chipplepo, an analyst for WalletHub, highlighted Provo as a model for effective leadership, stating, “The mayor has prioritized public safety, and the results support that. Provo’s low crime rates were crucial to its ranking as the best city in our study.”
In Kaufushi’s view, public safety is essential for fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. “When people feel secure, they’re more likely to participate in their community and utilize public services.” Provo, she insists, illustrates the effectiveness of vigilant leadership and smart budget management.
