The director of a Tennessee public library has reportedly been fired following allegations that he and some library staff tried to shut down a children’s reading event last month featuring conservative actor Kirk Cameron. I’m here.
The Sumner County Library Board Wednesday voted four to three to fire Hendersonville Public Library director Alan Morales. report News Channel 5 from Nashville.
Morales is Kirk Cameron, swimmer Riley Gaines, duck dynasty Star Missy Robertson. It was Missy Robertson who accused the librarian of organizing a campaign against the event, but she did not name him.
“He launched a campaign to shut down in the community [the event] We went down without officially canceling because we knew it wasn’t good for their library,” Robertson said. Said A recent episode of BlazeTV’s “Unshamed with Phil & Jase Robertson.”
She claimed that while she and others were trying to shoot a promotional video, some library staff began acting disruptively to prevent the team from recording the footage.
“They’re banging on books together. They’re kicking cabinets. They’re yelling,” said Robertson.
In a Facebook post, Kirk Cameron referred to an “unfriendly backlash” from a “disgruntled librarian.”
“Despite the rain and unfriendly backlash (from one grumpy librarian), an OVERFLOW crowd of families, mayors, county commissioners and celebrities welcomed and joined us at the library in Hendersonville, Tennessee. They sang the national anthem, pledged allegiance to the flag, and prayed and taught their children faith in God and moral values,” Cameron wrote.
