Puka Nacua seems unfazed by the lawsuit that was filed against him last week. The Rams star was seen happily coaching a football team in Dallas over the weekend, showing no signs of distress.
During the two-day event, Nacua was actively involved, calling plays for his high school 7-on-7 team, and he was all smiles, wearing a headset and directing routes.
This cheerful atmosphere comes shortly after a 24-year-old woman named Madison Atiabi accused him of an altercation during a night out in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve.
According to Atiabi, Nacua allegedly made a derogatory remark during a dinner party and then bit him on the shoulder while he was in a van with friends.
In her lawsuit, Atiabi described the bite as severe enough to tear the skin, claiming she had photographic evidence of the injury.
She also had sought a restraining order against Nacua over these allegations, but her attorney mentioned on Friday that they would withdraw that request to concentrate on the case itself.
Regarding the incident, Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, firmly rejected the accusation of anti-Semitism. He acknowledged that the biting incident did occur, but characterized it as a result of mutual “horseplay.”
McCathern is confident about the outcome, stating, “At the end of the day, they’re going to pay Puka, not the other way around,” hinting at a strong defense against the lawsuit.
In the meantime, Rams coach Sean McVay acknowledged that they were aware of what happened following the incident. He expressed his trust in Nacua, emphasizing the need to understand all the facts before jumping to conclusions. “I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay stated, indicating his support for Nacua as he navigates this challenging situation.
