Puka Nacua’s Situation Takes a Turn
The narrative surrounding Puka Nacua just keeps getting more complicated.
In a video that surfaced, a woman dressed in white, presumed to be Madison Atiabi, who has accused Nacua of assaulting and biting her on New Year’s Eve, was spotted lingering near the Rams player, who appeared to be asleep in his van. The background music features Sexy Red’s “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad).”
Reportedly, this incident happened after Nacua allegedly bit her on the back.
Atiabi mentioned that Nacua “lost consciousness” in the van for several hours afterward, which may relate to what was captured in the recently released video.
Atiabi is in the process of pursuing a restraining order against the wide receiver. She also claimed that earlier that evening, he made an offensive comment regarding Jewish people.
Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, denied the accusation of anti-Semitic remarks but confirmed that the bite did occur. He described the incident as stemming from “horseplay.”
McCathern characterized the allegations as an “attempt to extort money” and indicated that a defamation lawsuit would be forthcoming.
“Let’s clarify what this case entails. It is not sexual in nature, nor does it involve domestic violence claims. If it were, the evidence presented would differ significantly. There are no anti-Semitic factors to consider, and sober witnesses have confirmed that Puka did not make the alleged comments,” McCathern stated.
Following their entry into the van, Nacua, age 24, was reported to have sat alongside Atiabi and his girlfriend, becoming increasingly “tactile.” Atiabi alleged that he was acting “erratic” and “strange.”
Moreover, Nacua is accused of biting Atiabi’s girlfriend’s thumb before he allegedly bit Atiabi’s left shoulder and shoulder blade, resulting in a noticeable bite mark.
“The bite pierced the skin and created a visible wound, which was documented shortly after,” Atiabi noted in her restraining order application.
After the episode, a meeting unfolded involving Atiabi, her attorney, Nacua, McCathern, and Nacua’s “crisis management team.” During this meeting, McCathern reportedly threatened to leak sensationalized statements to the media, suggesting that Atiabi had made inappropriate advances towards Nacua.
It’s been a tumultuous few months for Nacua, who was spotted acting out in San Francisco post-Super Bowl, faced a fine for an explosive outburst towards a referee, and engaged in behavior deemed “anti-Semitic” during a livestreamed podcast.
This latest incident could significantly affect Nacua’s professional trajectory. He had an impressive 2025 season, racking up 1,715 receiving yards, which placed him second in the league.
Nacua is expected to negotiate a substantial contract extension next year after his record-setting $168.6 million deal with Jackson Smith and Nijiba was finalized on Monday.
