Things got heated early on in Thursday’s joint practice between the Jets and Panthers.
The first scuffle came after Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall had run a touchdown over Jets cornerback DJ Reed, who was also cited for pass interference on the play.
After Marshall caught it, Reed fell to the ground.
Marshall then threw the ball at Reed, who was on the ground, drawing the ire of the Jets.
Jets safety Chuck Clark ran toward Marshall, and a skirmish soon ensued involving numerous players from both teams.
Reid picked up the ball and threw it to Marshall.
Later in practice, Jets defensive end Michael Clemons got into an altercation with a Panthers lineman, resulting in a fistfight.
Fights are always a concern during joint training sessions.
The Giants and Lions were each fined $200,000 following a fight during a joint workout earlier this summer.
