Punk who slapped HS teacher twice in face gets charged — with misdemeanors

A North Carolina high school student who was caught on video slapping a teacher twice in the face has been charged with a misdemeanor.

What are the details?

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. Said “The boy has been charged with assault and intimidation of a government official.” Specifically, authorities said that juvenile justice “issued a safe custody order for one count of wire intimidation and two counts of misdemeanor assault,” all charges being misdemeanors.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that a Parkland High School student, who was not identified due to his age, was captured on video “assaulting an educator” on Monday.

In the clip, the teacher remains seated and offers no resistance while the student administers two slaps. The second slap blows off the teacher’s glasses.

After the physical attack, the student asked the teacher, “Is that shit wrong?” Slap you, bitch, go back to being a teacher…”

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Tricia McManus told WGHP-TV A district hearing will determine the outcome for the student, and McManus will recommend expulsion.

“It’s like anything else,” she told the station. “Every day there are people who try to make bad decisions everywhere, in school, outside of school, in the community. And we have to take those incidents and deal with them.”

When asked if he intended to try the student as an adult, Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neal pointed out to WGHP that because the charges are only misdemeanors, the case cannot be filed in Superior Court.

“The message we’re sending here today is that the teachers and administrators who work in these schools deserve to feel safe,” he said, according to the department. I came here to see that…you are never assaulted when you go to work. … We want to remind people that if you put your hands on a teacher, you put your hands on one of the police officers. The District Attorney’s Office…the weight of this office will be placed on you, and you should fear the consequences. ”
