Star of the Purdue University Men's Basketball team, Trey Kaufman-Renn, claimed that some University of Illinois fans threw “racist comments” and other blasphemies on members of his family during a game Friday night.
Kaufman-Renn The allegations were filed following Illini's 88-80 home victory over boiler makers. He said the comments were very strict, he would be willing to “fight” on them.
“After the game, my mother and girlfriend informed me that there were racist comments being made about my siblings and that my family was doing something like that,” he said.
Kaufman-Renn, who scored 29 points in losses, indicated that the comments came from members of Illinois student section, Orange Krush. Kaufman-Renn's family sat just behind Purdue's bench in a section surrounded by Orange Kruss.
“I haven't said anything about all of the fans in Illinois, but unfortunately, the students who participated in it have said that,” Kaufman Run continued. “We hope for better security, especially in Illinois.”
“We are in touch with Purdue to apologize and express our disappointment.”

Nevertheless, the University of Illinois has already issued an apology despite suspicious comments still under investigation.
“At the end of tonight's game, Illinois staff were aware of alleged inappropriate comments made by members of Orange Cruis towards Purdue's players, coaches and fans,” the spokesman said in a statement.
“We received additional details after the conclusion of the game. We will take such allegations seriously and continue to gather information to determine appropriate actions. Meanwhile, we have apologised and contacted Purdue to express our disappointment.”
Both Irini and boiler makers Big Ten Tournamentstarts on Wednesday. It will also be rocking the NCAA Tournament later this month. CBS Sports now predicts Purdue will be four seeded after a big win over Alabama, Maryland and Michigan. Illinois is projected to be seven seeds.
