Purdue upset after top 16 seeds for March Madness revealed

this. teeth. March is almost here.

NCAA Men’s DI Basketball Committee Top 16 seeds revealed Yesterday, we were finally able to confirm the players the committee believes are good enough to earn a top-four seed at this point in the season.

The biggest question was who would be the No. 1 overall seed, Purdue or UW.

Both teams have had great seasons so far, with the defending champion Huskies running through the competition in hopes of winning back-to-back championships for the first time since Florida in 2007.

Meanwhile, Purdue is looking to do what Virginia did in 2019. After losing to the 16th seed in the first round, they won the national championship.

The committee gave its nod to Purdue, but that may change after UW, ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press poll, destroyed the No. 4 market on Saturday.

The Huskies dominated the Golden Eagles, winning 81-53.

Meanwhile, Purdue lost to Ohio State 73-69 on Sunday.

Other No. 1 seeds include Arizona and Houston. While not quite at the level of Purdue or UW, both teams have the ability to make deep runs heading into March.

Other notable teams to advance to the top 16 include the aforementioned Golden Eagles. They are on his two lines. North Carolina is a top two seed and No. 5 overall.

That raised some eyebrows, especially since Carolina has lost three games recently to an underdog Georgia Tech team and mid-ranked ACC teams Clemson and Syracuse.

To the Tar Heels’ credit, they beat Duke, who was the No. 3 seed in the committee’s initial rankings.

The committee has placed both UW and Carolina in the same region, and fans are salivating over the possibility of a rematch of the December game, which the Huskies won 87-76.

San Diego State is the only team outside of the Power 6 conferences to make the top 16.

The Aztecs had a magical run to last year’s national championship and are tied for first place in the Mountain West with Utah State.

The two will play at Utah State on Tuesday. San Diego State won the first matchup, 81-67.

This is a strange year for college basketball.

Other than Purdue, UW, and the University of Houston, no team has fewer than five losses, and the last No. 4 seed in the committee’s initial rankings, the University of Wisconsin, finished the season 16-8 and ranked No. 6 in 2016. They have lost five of six games since being ranked. AP poll.
