PwC reaches deal to become OpenAI’s biggest customer

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has inked a deal with artificial intelligence company OpenAI, becoming the firm’s largest client.

PwC The deal was announced In a blog post on Wednesday, the company explained that the deal will accelerate the company’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the U.S. and the U.K. According to the post, PwC becomes OpenAI’s first ChatGPT Enterprise reseller and its largest customer to date.

“By deploying ChatGPT Enterprise to all of our employees, we will provide our clients with first-hand experience of AI transformation and complement our audit, tax, and consulting services with a wide range of business and industry solutions,” the blog post said.

OpenAI also confirmed the deal to The Hill, directing the company to a PwC blog post on Wednesday for more details.

PwC said it is already working on generative AI with 950 of its top 1,000 consulting clients, and the expanded relationship with OpenAI will provide a “playbook for companies looking to scale their AI infrastructure, apps and services,” according to the post.

The company noted that this builds on PwC’s $1 billion investment in AI over three years, announced last year. Through the deal, PwC employees will have access to ChatGPT’s latest models, including the ChatGPT-4o model announced earlier this month.

“The adoption of GenAI tools within our organization has enabled an internal transformation, allowing us to redefine our internal processes and deliver even greater value to our customers with improved quality and speed, all while maintaining a responsible approach to AI,” the blog post reads.
