REM singer Michael Stipe has pleaded with President Joe Biden to “resign” after he made a number of gaffes in front of world leaders at a NATO press conference.
“President Biden, please respectfully step down,” Stipe wrote in an Instagram Story on Thursday, adding, “Please pass the baton now and help us out as your successor advisor. Thank you.”
The “Losing My Religion” singer posted a screenshot of Biden speaking at NATO’s annual summit this week.

As Breitbart News reported, this week’s NATO summit was marred by multiple reports that anonymous diplomats feared host Biden was mentally unfit to run the country and might soon step down as president of NATO’s most important country.
During his solo news conference at NATO on Thursday, Biden mistook Vice President Kamala Harris for former President Donald Trump, calling her his running mate.
Additionally, at the NATO summit, the president introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Stipe’s call for Biden to step down as the Democratic presidential nominee comes as many other prominent supporters of the 46th president have also urged him to step down.
It is noteworthy that the majority of public opinion calling for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race came after his disastrous defeat to Trump in the June 27 debate.
