Maddow Cautions Business Leaders Against Aligning with Trump

On Monday’s show, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow advised business leaders not to seek approval from President Donald Trump. She raised a question: “If you’re a business leader contemplating whether to appease Trump for recognition, does that really help the bottom line? It’s essential to gauge public sentiment. Aligning with something as extreme and unpopular as this might backfire,” she stated.

Maddow highlighted that Trump remains a significant figure in public discourse, as reflected in polls from CNN and NBC News. An NBC poll indicates that 30% of Americans identify with the MAGA movement, contrasting this with the 43% support for the “No Kings” protest movement.

She humorously noted, “The support for ‘No Kings’ is substantial, considering it stands at 43%—that’s about 147 people.” Maddow laughed while recalling her thorough coverage of these protests.

Claiming victory over Trump, Maddow had previously stated that he was “panicking” due to growing protests. On June 9, she mentioned, “He doesn’t know how to handle the persistent protests against him, so he resorts to military solutions. Game over, big boy. You lose. This movement against Trump is unstoppable, now more than ever.”

She elaborated on Trump’s political situation, asserting that he is one of the least popular presidents ever at this stage of his term. “In my experience, there’s never been a president less equipped to tackle these issues. It seems he’s just scrambling to find a way out,” Maddow commented back in June.

Maddow has become well-known for her commentary, particularly during Trump’s early presidency, when she hosted her show daily for the first 100 days.
