Outspoken liberal Rachel Vindman has retracted a now-deleted social media post mocking former President Donald Trump over the second assassination attempt.

She was immediately slammed for the insensitive message but responded defiantly by refusing to delete the tweet.

“I'm sorry you're upset. No I'm not upset. I don't care at all,” she later posted. “Trump has been inciting violence against his enemies for years. He pours gasoline on the situation, lights the match and walks away without claiming responsibility.”

However, after receiving a flood of criticism, she decided to delete the message.

“I have deleted my tweet. It was thoughtless and political violence is a serious issue. Whether it is directed at a former president, the media, immigrants or political 'enemies', if we want to change the tone of political discourse, we should respond appropriately to all incidents,” she said. explanation.
