Following the success of last year’s documentary series “The Quarterback,” cameras followed several pass catchers through the 2023 NFL season.

“Receivers” premiered on Netflix earlier this week. The documentary series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the 2023 season with Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra Saint Brown.

It’s worth noting that Adams didn’t always see eye to eye with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo last season, and some scenes in “Receivers” seemed to highlight the disconnect between Adams and Garoppolo.

Garoppolo’s inability to pass consistently last year appears to be a hindrance for Adams.

“This is so pathetic,” Adams said after Garoppolo overthrown a pass during a game against the Detroit Lions. “Just throw the ball! Fuck. I’m so sick of this f**king nonsense,” Adams continued, slamming his helmet on the ground near the bench.

Elsewhere, Adams appeared to express his dissatisfaction with playing with Garoppolo, with the wide receiver also suggesting the quarterback’s play could be what makes him want to leave the Raiders.

“I need to get out of here before I lose my life.” Adams said,“I’ve never been beaten so much in my career. I’m getting beaten every game.”

Garoppolo was earmarked to be the Raiders’ starter going into the 2023 season, but a string of poor performances and injuries eventually led to him being replaced by rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell.

Garoppolo was benched by the Raiders. A disappointing 3-5 start and the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels.

At one point during the show, Adams acknowledged that he supported the Raiders’ decision to bench Garoppolo and start O’Connell.

The Raiders waived Garoppolo in March, and he later signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams. The two-time Super Bowl champion faces a two-game suspension at the start of the 2024 season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Garoppolo signed a three-year, $73.75 million contract with Las Vegas last year and finished with seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. He played six years with the 49ers before joining the Raiders.
