Tom Brady's vision for the 2025 Raiders could include DK Metcalf.
A day after the Star Seahawks wide receiver requested a deal, ESPN reported On Thursday, Las Vegas spoke with a team that is one of the organizations interested in Metcalf's services and boasts future Hall of Fame quarterback Brady as the minority owner.
Seattle is looking for the first and third picks for the 27-year-old Metcalf. According to Athletics.
Metcalf, a two-time pro bowler who played his entire six-year career in Seattle, is also hoping for a new contract in the neighborhood, which costs $30 million per season.
He finished the 2024 season with 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns.
If Las Vegas and Seattle sign a deal, it would be a reunion of Metcalf and New Raiders coach Pete Carroll, Seahawks.
Carroll coached the Seahawks from 2010-23 before being hired by the Raiders in January, with Metcalf appearing on the roster for the last five.
Despite Metcalf's demands, Seahawks general manager John Schneider portrayed the potential reality of the original second-round pick, playing the final season of a three-year, $72 million extension in Seattle.
“It is our responsibility to understand here. [owner] Jodie Allen in the 12th is doing the best thing for the organization, A, B and players first and foremost,” Schneider told Seattle Sports 710-AM on each ESPN.
“Hopefully, both of these will merge and that's the ideal situation. Sometimes it happens, but sometimes it's not. Hopefully, in this situation, that's what it is and that's great.”
Schneider said that Metcalf “understands that we are trying to do the best thing for the organization and that if things don't fall as he wants, then he's likely to be here.”
Schneider hopes the issue will be resolved, focusing on the 2025 NFL Draft, which begins on April 24th.
The Seahawks were out of the 10-7 season and missed the playoffs.
The team rocked the roster on Wednesday with the long-standing wideout Tyler Rocket release.
The Raiders also prioritized their offensive re-tool following a meager 4-13 campaign featuring a rotating door in the quarterback position between Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew.
They aimed at Matthew Stafford and explored options in that position before deciding to return to the Rams last week.
Tight end Michael Mayer is said to be in the trading block as well.
