Rays Cane Chicken Chain Expands to Coastal Locations

The rapidly growing chicken restaurant chain, Rays Cane, is set to expand its reach to the coastal regions. Next month, seven new outlets are slated to open, with an ambitious target of reaching 1,000 locations by year’s end.

The company noted that the September openings will be strategically located near prominent universities, highlighting a longstanding, nearly 30-year connection to the university community.

Two of the new spots will be in San Diego, California, and Santa Fe Springs, with others planned for New York City, Indianapolis, Spokane, Washington, Bel Air, Maryland, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In New York, one location will be just across the street from Columbia University and Bernard University, with the Manhattan School of Music nearby as well. Meanwhile, the San Diego location is only a few miles from the University of San Diego, and the Santa Fe Springs establishment is close to Cerritos College.

In Spokane, the new restaurant will be located slightly over a mile from Gonzaga University.

Bel Air, Maryland, is also surrounded by higher educational institutions, with about 36 universities within a 30-mile radius. The location in Ann Arbor is just a stairway away from the University of Michigan and near several other colleges, including Indiana University in Indianapolis and Purdue University.

Last year, the company opened an impressive 118 new restaurants.

The company has made it clear that there are no plans for stoppage on its website, as Raising Cane’s currently operates over 800 chicken finger spots across the United States.

In June, the company mentioned to Fox Business that there are about 300 restaurants in various stages of development, continuously evaluating sites globally. With over 1,600 restaurants, they aim to become one of the top 10 brands in the U.S.
