Ralph Norman receives Mark Lynch's endorsement in campaign against Darline Graham

Endorsement in South Carolina Senate Race

Mark Lynch has publicly backed Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), the runner-up in the recent South Carolina Republican Senate primary. Norman will now compete against Sen. Darling Graham (R-S.C.) in a runoff.

In the primary held on August 11, Graham secured first place, while Norman placed second. The runoff is set for August 25.

Lynch had finished second in the Republican primary for Senate, which was won by Sen. Lindsey Graham in June, but surprisingly placed fifth in the special primary.

“I am honored to have the support and endorsement from Mark Lynch in my campaign for the United States Senate!” Norman announced on Wednesday.

Background on the South Carolina Senate Race

Lynch expressed, “I am proud to support Ralph Norman for the United States Senate. Our country needs someone who will prioritize America, and the people of South Carolina are ready for a proven businessman and conservative to represent them in Washington, D.C.”

Last month, South Carolina’s Governor Henry McMaster appointed Darling Graham, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sister, to serve the remainder of her brother’s term. Additionally, former President Donald Trump has endorsed her candidacy.

Senate Campaign Developments

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who heads the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), also endorsed Graham after her strong performance in the primary.

“If I were to endorse her in the South Carolina Republican Senate primary, I would do so with confidence. I saw Darling Graham in the Senate and on the campaign trail and knew she was the real deal. Her first-place finish last night was remarkable, but not surprising. She embodies the hard-working, conservative values we hold dear,” Scott commented in a recent post.

Norman’s Challenge Amidst Trump’s Backing of Graham

Though Trump has shown support for Graham, Norman is still actively campaigning, vying for his chance in the Senate race.

Scott emphasized, “I know she’s proud of her brother, but Darling has already proven to be her own person. She’s focused on important issues, upholding South Carolina’s values, and serving her constituents. Her priorities align with ours. I voted for her in the runoff, and I will do so again. I encourage all South Carolina Republicans to support her in the House race.”
