Ram and Kaulig Racing announce a changing driver lineup for the truck series

Kaulig Racing and Ram Unveil Innovative Driver Program for NASCAR

Kaulig Racing and Ram are set to introduce some fresh ideas to the Craftsman Truck Series, marking an exciting phase in Ram’s journey back to NASCAR. Announced on Monday, Kaulig Racing’s free agent initiative for the #25 Ram 1500 will launch in the 2026 season, showcasing a “varied and unexpected lineup of drivers” from different racing backgrounds.

“Free agency allows us to attract talented individuals while keeping fans intrigued,” said Matt Kaulig, the owner of Kaulig Racing. “Each driver will bring something distinct to the team. This concept is new to us, and it’s the kind of dynamic energy we’re aiming for in 2026.”

The program will consist of diverse drivers, and Kaulig Racing plans to announce details about the free agent drivers just before each race, keeping the competitive spirit alive throughout the season.

Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram, highlighted the unique adrenaline of NASCAR racing. “Driving at top speeds, handling intense G-forces, and the adrenaline rush… it’s a thrilling experience that fans can’t fully grasp,” he stated. “Why do millions love this sport? You’ll likely get different answers, but they all relate to the connection with the teams and drivers. The No. 25 car won’t be about chasing points; we’re aiming for something bigger—celebrating and enhancing fan engagement through this free agency, alongside Kaulig Racing and the Ram brand.”

RAM Partners with Kaulig Racing for 2026 Comeback

In August, Ram had announced that Kaulig Racing would be the primary factory team for its awaited return to NASCAR. It’s worth noting that the free agent drivers won’t be competing for championship points. Instead, the No. 25 car will focus on performance recognition, rewarding top racers based on individual race achievements.

Kaulig Racing is preparing five Ram 1500 trucks for the upcoming season. Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, Daniel Dye, and Justin Haley will be full-time drivers, while two additional entries will include the free agent truck and another driver to be named later.

When partnering with Ram, Kaulig expressed that this collaboration reflects shared values and a commitment to innovation in NASCAR. “It’s both a privilege and a responsibility to be the anchor team for Ram’s return to the series,” he mentioned. “Together, we’re ready to set new benchmarks for impact on race day and beyond.”

Ram’s approach this season stands out with a significant emphasis on fan interaction and high-level performance—all set to kick off on February 13, 2026, at Daytona International Speedway.
